Denture Relines
Make the most of your dentures with a denture reline
Your dentures are an investment in your health and well-being. Make sure they’re still working at their best with a denture reline. If you’re experiencing looseness, discomfort, or poor functionality, visit us at Galon Dental Prosthetics for a reline. We’ll restore the ideal fit for greater comfort and improved function.
Natural changes in the shape of your gums and jawbone can cause your denture to become ill-fitting over time. You might notice more difficulty when you eat and chew, a little more trouble with speaking, or general discomfort. These are all signs you need to come along and see us for a denture reline.

We recommend relines every 3-5 years for your comfort
Like we said, you’ll want to come along as soon as you notice you’re having trouble with speaking or eating or when you notice an unusual amount of discomfort in your dentures. But as a rule of thumb, you’ll probably need a denture reline every three to five years.
Denture relines aim to increase the stability of your denture by relining it to ensure it fits your gums and jawbones as perfectly as possible. At Galon Dental Prosthetics, we’re specialists in dentures and relines and will work with you to restore and enhance your comfort and the functionality of your dentures.
We take a therapeutic approach to denture relines & your comfort
We really care about our patients and your comfort. With our next-level expertise and serious attention to detail, we create excellent fit and function in every denture reline we complete.
But that’s not what keeps our patients coming back to us. It’s our therapeutic approach, where we work with you to understand any fit or retention issues you’re experiencing and take the time to understand exactly how we can reline your denture for the best fit.
Benefits of denture relines
Improve the stability and retention of your dentures
A reline adjusts your dentures to ensure they fit securely and comfortably, preventing them from slipping or shifting while speaking or eating. This stability gives you confidence in your dentures, knowing they will stay in place throughout the day.
Improve chewing and speech ability
Relining your dentures improves both chewing and speech. A proper fit makes it easier to bite, chew, and enjoy your meals without discomfort while also enhancing your ability to speak clearly and naturally. This eliminates issues like slurring or difficulty pronouncing words.
Extended denture lifespan
Instead of replacing your dentures, regular relines help extend their lifespan by ensuring they continue to fit properly. By maintaining your dentures in good condition through relining, you can avoid costly replacements while keeping your appliance functional and effective.
Improved oral health
Well-fitting dentures reduce pressure and irritation on your gums, preventing sores, infections, and other oral health issues. By improving the fit with a reline, you’re not only enhancing your comfort but also promoting better oral hygiene and overall gum health.
Types of denture relines
Denture relines are important for keeping your dentures comfortable and functional as your mouth changes over time. There are three main types, each with a different purpose to improve fit and comfort.
- Soft denture reline: Uses a flexible material to create a cushioned, comfortable fit. It’s ideal for those with sensitive gums or discomfort from regular dentures, as it reduces irritation and offers a gentler fit.
- Hard denture reline: This approach uses a firm material to provide a more permanent, stable fit. It’s best for patients whose gums have settled, offering a sturdy adjustment to improve denture stability and function.
- Temporary denture reline: Provides quick relief until a more permanent reline can be done. It’s used for immediate comfort and fit adjustments when needed but is not intended to last long-term.
