Full Dentures

Need a full set of dentures? Visit Galon for patient-centred denture therapy.

At Galon Dental Prosthetics, we create custom sets of full dentures with a focus on you, the patient. It’s a therapeutic approach to your care and denture fitting, but we’ll get to that shortly.

A full denture or set of dentures replaces a full arch in your teeth — the top, bottom, or both. Full dentures are a removable set of teeth, created using acrylic teeth, which sit in an acrylic base that is then able to be placed in your mouth to mimic your real teeth.

We really care about you and your frame of mind

There are so many details and aspects of your dentures that will impact your experience with them. There’s the quality of the dentures themselves — where we take a detailed approach to the impressions and creation of your dentures to produce the best set possible. This is important, but it’s not the be-all and end-all.

In fact, at Galon Dental Prosthetics, we believe it’s how you feel about them and understand them that is most important. We’ll work with you early on to set expectations, provide you with the right education and guidance, and share a range of tips for the adjustment period to set you up for the very best experience.

We bring a therapeutic approach to full dentures

Our difference is in the approach we take with you for your dentures. So, what do we mean by ‘Patient-Centred Denture Therapy’? That we put you at the centre. It’s a therapeutic approach. Dentures are like any other prosthetic. You need attention early on and personalised care to help you really understand how you can make your dentures more comfortable for you — to make the most of these as you adjust to life with dentures.

We're here for you every step of the way.

QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

We know dentures can be a daunting process and you might have some questions. Take a look at some of our most frequently asked questions or get in touch with our friendly team.

The lifespan of dentures can vary depending on a range of factors, including your oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, and the quality of your dentures. On average, dentures can last between five and 10 years before they may need to be replaced or relined due to wear and changes in your gums and mouth.

Dentures usually require an adjustment period during which you might experience some difficulty with eating and speaking. However, with time and practice, most people adapt and regain their normal abilities. Well-fitting dentures should allow you to chew a wide range of foods and speak clearly.

Proper denture care is essential to maintain your denture’s appearance, functionality, and oral health. Rinse your dentures after meals, brush them gently using a denture brush and mild soap or denture cleaner, and soak them overnight. Regular dental check-ups are also important to assess the condition of your dentures and oral tissues.

It’s generally recommended to remove dentures while sleeping to give your oral tissues a chance to rest. This can help promote oral health and prevent issues like inflammation or infection. We’ll provide you with specific instructions based on your personal needs and oral health condition.

In most cases, dentures can be repaired if they break, chip, or become damaged. It is important to visit us as soon as possible to assess the extent of the damage and work out the appropriate repair solution. Attempting to fix dentures yourself can lead to further damage, so we recommend popping all pieces in a bag and visiting us right away.
